YoungSoo Kim is the Chief Science Officer and co-founder of Amyloid Solution Inc. He received his B.A. degree in Biochemistry from New York University and earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Scripps Research. Kim currently holds a tenure-track professorship in the Department of Pharmacy at Yonsei University, South Korea. Kim is a distinguished expert in Alzheimer's disease research, with his work primarily focusing on the pathology, therapeutics, and diagnostics of the disease, utilizing chemical biology as a pivotal research tool. He is recognized as a pioneer in the development of chemical-driven amyloid clearance for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, as documented in his notable publication in Nature Communications (2015;6:8997). The establishment of Amyloid Solution Inc. was based on the scientific breakthroughs achieved through his research. Kim has made substantial contributions to the identification of small molecules capable of reversing protein misfolding and has discovered neuroimaging probes that target soluble amyloid-beta and tau proteins. Additionally, he has developed high-throughput drug screening platforms and blood test systems aimed at improving the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
