Dr. Deisher has brought AVM0703 from basic discovery research to Ph 2 clinical trials, winning 5 NIH grant awards in support of AVM0703 development. Prior to founding AVM Biotechnology, Dr. Deisher was a Principal Scientist with Amgen/Immunex, heading development programs for prevention of chemotherapy-induced heart damage and surgery-induced stroke. Dr. Deisher discovered and patented the first human pluripotent stem cells in 1998 (Cardiac-derived stem cells PCT/US1999/006356), FGF-18 (in clinical development for osteoarthritis), and nine patent families relating to the use of AVM0703 and the AVM_NKT cells, assigned to AVM Biotechnology.
