Sudip (Deep) Chakrabortty is the co-founder and CEO of BCN Biosciences. He oversees Strategy, overall Operations, IP, and Corporate Development activities at BCN.
Deep has more than 20 years of experience in Investment, Product, Strategy & Operations primarily in the Healthcare and Life Sciences sectors. Over the years, he has worked in Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Fortune 50 corporate houses as well as startups. As part of his experiences, he has worked at and with companies such as Cardinal Health, Pfizer & Novo Nordisk Healthnet, Pfizer, US Oncology, and Medtronic.
Over the past 10 years, he has focused on building and advising startups with 2 successful exits so far. He has been instrumental in building the early stages of ImmunoCellular Therapeutics and Iovance Biotherapeutics (Nasdaq: IOVA).
Currently, he is on the Board of Advisors for a cancer therapeutics startup, mPulse mobile – a secure messaging platform for healthcare and an advisor to Cota Capital, a Silicon Valley VC. Deep has a Chemistry background with a Bachelor of Engineering degree, a Master's from George Washington University, and an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA.
Deep is actively involved in the bioscience community in California through both California Life Sciences and Biocom. He serves as a mentor for UCLA Healthcare startups. In his spare time, Deep enjoys running ultramarathons, climbing, and coaching soccer.
