Richard S. Kornbluth, MD, PhD is a physician-scientist and serial entrepreneur who focuses on immune stimulation using CD40 ligand (CD40L) and other members of the TNF SuperFamily. He trained at Harvard, Columbia, and Scripps Research. He previously served as a professor at Univ. Calif. San Diego and then went on to found Multimeric Biotherapeutics, Inc. He invented and patented "FortiVac" which is the company's lead technology. At the company, he directs R&D and is the principal investigator on four NIH and CDC grants to the company.
