After graduating from Tulane in his hometown of New Orleans, Dr. Millan moved to Zurich to conduct his doctoral work in molecular bioengineering at the Swiss Institute of Technology (ETH). There, he developed novel biomaterials for engineering microtissues and studied their ability to recapitulate clinically-relevant cell behaviors during in vitro culture. He was recognized for his work on the Forbes 30 Under 30 List, and later founded Beken Bio to develop diagnostic tests for early cancer detection targeting novel extracellular vesicle biomarkers.
